The closing ceremony was attended by Defense Minister Senator Roberta Pinotti, Chief of Defense Staff, General Claudio Graziano and Navy Chief of Staff Naval Admiral Valter Girardelli.

The Minister of Defense stressed that "this Symposium represents a precious opportunity for discussion and exchange to find solutions to the great challenge for security that is being played in the Mediterranean, a challenge also on the European agenda. The Marines represent a capable, efficient and readily available instrument, not only to ensure an effective defense against traditional threats, but also to guarantee the safe and free shared use of the maritime environment ".

In the tradition of the tradition, the 11 ° Regional Seapower Symposium has proven to be an excellent opportunity for confrontation, direct exchange of ideas, search for maritime and naval agreements and an ideal tool for deepening mutual knowledge among all actors, both institutional and non-partisan, who share with the Navy, common challenges and interests.

This year's meeting saw the participation for the first time in Australia, Canada, Indonesia, Iran, Kuwait, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Sri Lanka and allowed us to analyze, in a participatory and collaborative approach, the role of modern Marine within the scenarios that characterize maritime areas of strategic interest to provide responses to new challenges.

The Amerigo Vespucci school ship, present in Venice for the occasion, in addition to receiving the warm embrace of citizenship in the mass to visit it, also hosted on board some important events such as the signing of the cooperation agreement between the Navy and that of Qatar, the meeting between the Marine Chiefs of the ADRION Adriatic-Ionian Initiative and the first informal meeting between the G7 Nations Marine Corps.
