Civitavecchia, Nave Italia leaves with the young "Artelier" association on board

Starts the sixteenth stage of the summer campaign for the education of teenagers made vulnerable to social or family discomfort or children with psychophysical disabilities

Nave Italia today departed from Civitavecchia with the young people of the Artelier Clinical-Cultural Association in the 2017 summer campaign with which the Tender Foundation for Naval Foundation and the support of the Military Navy support education and the growth of teenagers made vulnerable to social or family disabilities or those with psycho-physical disabilities.

In the project "The New Argonauts of Nave Italia" the protagonists of the trip to border of the brigantine armed with gull this week represents the 16th project that alternated from the beginning of the campaign, the 2 May 2017, which brought Italy ship to the port of Santa Margherita Ligure, Livorno, Civitavecchia, Genoa and Olbia, traveling in total 2100 miles and embarking 320 users so far.

In particular, the project "the new Argonauts of Nave Italia" has the aim of making children experience a group experience far from the family environment, framed in an organization with precise rules and a rhythm of life rigorously punctuated in time and in space, fundamental characteristics of the military environment. Participating in sailing, knowing and respecting nature, the marine environment, with rules, duties, roles and responsibilities, offers children a path that promotes autonomy, self-esteem , physical mobility, with a view to rehabilitation.

Italy Ship will return to Civitavecchia on September 9 and at the end of this trip the aspiring Argonauts will meritively earn their "gold veil", the formal acknowledgment of "Sailor of Nave Italia".

Marina Militare and Foundation Tender to Nave Italia, which this year celebrate the ten years of collaboration, have made possible the realization of the projects of various associations and hospitals including: pediatric hospital Bambin Gesù who participated with four different projects, Giorgia Association, SSD NPI, Meyer Foundation, AISW, Sondrio Rotary Club, AIDEL 22, Foundation for Autopsy ONLUS, CAPUA Foundation, Italian Embassy in Prague, Talents between DSA Clouds, Santa Rita Foundation from Cascia, Cooperativa La Carabattola.

Ship Italia is under the command of Frigate Captain Marco Filzi, who has recently replaced Frigate Captain John Antonio Tedeschini, who during two solidarity campaigns has contributed to completing 43 projects dedicated to the social and allowing the boarding of well 935 guests.

Association "Artelier":

The Artelier Association operates from 1999 in the field of mental health in the service of infancy, adolescence and adulthood by acting individually, family and group. It deals with relational, psychic and social discomfort, learning difficulties, and psycho-affective disorders by providing psychological support for both the subject and the family, enhancing the existential qualities, skills and personal skills.
