Aeronautica Militare: A woman is on the island of Capri in imminent danger of life

In the morning of Thursday 22 March, an HH139 aircraft from the 85th C-SAR (Combat - Search and Rescue) search and rescue center in Pratica di Mare (RM) made a medical flight in favor of a lady in Imminent Danger of Life (IPV).

The crew, in readiness for alarm, after taking off from the Pratica di Mare airport reached the island of Capri where they were able to board the patient. From here he headed to Naples to allow the subsequent transfer of the woman to the Antonio Cardarelli hospital.

The air mission was managed by the Top Situation Room of the Air Squad Command, the operations room of the Air Force from where this type of interventions are also coordinated. The Top Situations Room has among its tasks that of organizing and managing - in coordination with Prefectures, Hospitals and the Presidency of the Council of Ministers - this kind of transport throughout the national territory, including the islands and, when requested by the competent authorities, it is also carried out in favor of Italian citizens who are abroad.

The 85th CSAR Center in Pratica di Mare is one of the Centers of the 15th Wing of the Italian Air Force which guarantees 24 hours a day, 24 days a year, the search and rescue of flight crews in difficulty and which competes to activities of public utility such as the search for missing persons at sea or in the mountains, the emergency medical transport of patients in danger of life and the rescue of seriously traumatized patients.
