The State Police of Florence carried out an order for precautionary custody in prison, issued by the Gip of the Court of Florence, at the request of the Public Prosecutor of Florence, against the alleged perpetrator of the attempted murder committed on the night of last October 14 to damage of a young Italian girl who, after spending the evening in a nightclub in Montelupo Fiorentino, passed through the Amrogiana park.
The meticulous investigation activity of the Flying Squad of the Police Headquarters of Florence and of the Police Station of Empoli, launched immediately after the events, made it possible to collect a series of elements, including scientific ones, which, unequivocally, led to the accusation of serious episode a 21-year-old Italian boy, recipient of the restrictive measure.
The investigators, also thanks to a precise synchronization of the video images - compared with the data of the telephone records - were able to reconstruct that that night, at about 6.20 am, a man in light trousers and a dark jacket, on board a bicycle, took the avenue that the young victim was traveling in the opposite direction, while she was talking on her cell phone.
After crossing it, the man followed her and then hit her from behind with a blunt object, making her fall and dragging her for about 200 mt., Then abandon her at the edge of the avenue, not before having taken possession of the cell phone between hands.
The consequent investigative activity - based on the classical and fundamental acquisition of information - combined with the technical-scientific activity, has allowed to attribute an identity to the man framed by video surveillance cameras on board the bicycle, whose biological traces have been found on garments of the young victim.
The set of findings thus acquired allowed the investigators of the State Police to provide the Public Prosecutor's Office with decisive elements for requesting the precautionary measure.
The Italian 21enne is now in the Sollicciano prison, available to the judicial authorities.
