A collaboration for the production of lung ventilators in Italy
Put our experience and our knowledge in the production and management field at the service of Italy and of those who produce specialized devices that are used every day to save lives in the intensive care units of hospitals in every corner of the world that fight against the pandemic Covid-19. This is the spirit that moved Fiat Chrysler Automobiles which, with the support of the holding company Exor and Ferrari, has begun to collaborate in recent weeks with Siare Engineering of Valsamoggia (Bologna), a company that has been operating with professionalism for over 45 years and expertise in the design and production of electromedical equipment for export all over the world.
In a very short time, the Manufacturing Engineering team of the FCA EMEA Region managed to build the first group of solenoid valves, the "beating heart" in the Cento plant, a jewel for the production of high-performance motors for markets all over the world. of fans, of which there is a great need today in Italy and in other countries.
In collaboration with Siare technicians, the FCA working group, made up of about 20 people, analyzed the flow of finding the components to be used through specialized suppliers as a first step, and subsequently the optimal methodology for assembling the electronic device. . In parallel, the management of production expansion in the Siare Engineering laboratories was analyzed with the insertion of solenoid valves from Cento.
Thanks to the impulse of all the parties involved in the operation, the construction of the solenoid valves in Cento will allow a reduction in the production time of the complete equipment within the Valsamoggia plant by at least 30-50%. The goal is to help increase productivity at Siare Engineering through a gradual increase in daily production which started this week. This is possible, in addition to the collaboration of all the parties involved in the project, also thanks to a specific team of highly professional people from FCA who have already started working side by side with colleagues from Siare Engineering in the Bologna laboratories.
