The deadline is approaching to participate in the fourth edition of the "Finance for social" award, the initiative for young students in journalism, promoted by ABI (Italian Banking Association), FEDUF (Foundation for Financial Education and Savings) and FIABA (Italian Fund for the Removal of Architectural Barriers). The award received the patronage of the National Order of Journalists.
The initiative aims to support the commitment to tell the importance of financial culture for the country. Recipients of the competition are journalists practicing and students of journalism schools, interested in seizing the challenges of economic journalism, in a historical moment in which the adequate information and financial training are a real service for the development of essential skills. The initiative, promoted in the context of the XVI edition of FIABADAY - National Day for the Abatement of Architectural Barriers, is part of the multiannual commitment of the banking world on issues of financial and social inclusion.
Particular attention is paid this year to the financial inclusion of citizens in situations of social fragility. In fact, the theme of the fourth edition award is "The role of financial education and savings as a tool for social inclusion. Challenges and training prospects for the most vulnerable sections of the population ". Strengthening the financial skills of all sections of the population, starting with the most vulnerable, can contribute to strengthening the ability to cope with complex situations and social exclusion, and to invest in the future. Favoring financial inclusion means supporting growth and development opportunities and, at the same time, the economic and social sustainability that is the foundation of recovery.
The best article or audio / video service that has dealt with the theme of the competition will be awarded. Information and tools useful for developing the works can be found by consulting the site www.curaituoisoldi.it, the new portal on financial education created by FEDUF in collaboration with consumer associations. The winning project will be published on the ABI website www.abi.it, On the site www.curaituoisoldi.it of FEDUF, and on the FIABA website www.fiaba.org.
Participation is free. Practitioners and students of journalism or masters schools recognized by the Order of Journalists, authors of articles in Italian language or of radio and television services on the subject in the competition can compete. Works written by several authors can also be included. Each competitor, or group of competitors, may participate with a single article / service, published or transmitted during the period between 1 November 2017 and the 30 July 2018.
The contested project must be sent by August 31 2018 by e-mail, indicating as object the words "Finance Award for the Social IV Edition" a ufficiostampa@fiaba.org or by mail at FIABA - "Finance for Social" Journalism Award, Piazzale degli Archivi, n. 41, 00144 Rome. In case of shipping by post, the date of the postmark will be valid. The entries must in any case arrive within and no later than 7 September 2018.
The announcement of the winner will take place during the celebrations of the XVI edition of FIABADAY.
