Israeli air raid on Gaza against Hamas positions

The Israeli army, in a press release, announced that the Israeli air force carried out air raids on positions of the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas in the Gaza Strip during the night.

The air strikes, which caused no casualties or injuries, were carried out in response to the launch of rockets from the Palestinian enclave against the territory of the Jewish state.

"The rockets were launched from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory," reads the army note. "In response (…) fighter jets and an Israeli Defense Forces plane hit a number of terrorist targets in a Hamas military complex in the northern Gaza Strip."

The official Palestinian agency Wafa, quoted by the AFP, reported for its part that Israeli aircraft "fired at least one missile at an uninhabited site in the al-Shajaia neighborhood" in the eastern part of Gaza city.
