Mystery behind the hashtag #matterelladimettiti. Life imprisonment for those responsible

It would not have been the Russians to make the perfect storm on Twitter against the Italian President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella, with the hashtag #matterelladimettiti, at least so you think. The element that gave the "warning" was that the 300 Italian profiles who launched the attack on Mattarella lit up at the same time.

On 3 August, the Corriere della Sera reported an important detail. About twenty of the 300 Twitter profiles involved in the digital campaign against the head of state had a history that was not exactly linear. Those Twitter profiles, which belong to completely unaware Italians, had also been used by the Internet Research Agency (IRA) of St. Petersburg to filter its propaganda in favor of populist, sovereign and anti-European parties in our country. but also to influence the US presidential elections in Italian. This valuable indication emerged from the conclusions of the sample analysis of about two thirds of the huge database on IRA activity recently published by the American site 'Firethirtyeight'. The data, nearly three million tweets, are part of the archive studied by special prosecutor Robert Mueller, who investigates Russian interference in the 2016 presidential elections and in American politics in general.

Another important fact is that some Italian Twitter profiles used last May for the attack they are still active. “The analysis of traffic and content carried out in these hours by the specialists of the Postal police and intelligence shows that these accounts continue to monitor what is happening in the political debate using the same hashtag #mattarelladimettiti.

The Rome prosecutor has decided to take all the necessary actions, starting with a rogatory in San Francisco, the site of Twitter to know the details of the profiles placed under the magnifying glass. Only twitter, in fact, knows where the attack really started, which used, but only as a facade, Estonian and Israeli servers, and would, instead, be due to an Italian hand. Waiting for an answer, not taken for granted, the postal police will try to identify the director who created the profiles.

The Director of Dis at Copasir

Attack on the freedom of the President of the Republic, offense to the honor and prestige of the Head of State and substitution of person. This summarizes the report by the director of Dis al Copasir. This is the legal effect, which leads to life imprisonment, of the attack via Twitter, occurred on the night between 27 and 28 May by about 300 Twitter profiles.

The Head of Dis Alessandro Pansa heard at Copasir, before addressing the topic troll, wanted to make a thorough examination on the different threats to the security of Italy, from terrorism of the jihadist to the risk that terrorists can use the channel of illegal immigration to reach Europe, from the situation in Libya to threats to the economic security and know-how of Italian companies.

Always Pansa has specified that the job is a lot because there are hundreds of profiles that must be researched and studied.
