Leonardo: joint venture signed with the Ministry of Defense of Algeria for the assembly of helicopters and support and training services in the country

Leonardo and the Algerian Ministry of Defense today announced the establishment of a joint venture for the assembly of Leonardo helicopters in the country, their sale and supply of related services for various uses. The new company (with a share of 51% for the Algerian Ministry of Defense and the remaining 49% for Leonardo) will be based at a new plant in Aïn Arnat, in the province of Sétif.

The joint venture involves the assembly, sale and supply of assistance for various helicopter models, mainly for Algerian national requirements, but also for the export market. Furthermore, thanks to the agreement, which follows the collaboration agreement signed in August 2016, technical support, maintenance and training services will be provided to final customers.

The establishment of the new company marks an important milestone in the solid collaboration between Leonardo and Algeria, strengthened over the years. This result demonstrates that Leonardo confirms itself as a reliable partner, capable of satisfying rigorous requirements and supplying advanced and high quality products. Leonardo will support the Algerian industrial program in aeronautics, aimed at enabling the country to play a significant role in this sector.
