Terrorist attack in London, assassin killed

The man, believed to be connected to the Islamist militancy, responsible for stabbing two people today in a busy street in south London, was identified and killed by the London police.

Three people were injured by blading, probably with a machete: one of the victims sustained very serious injuries and is in danger of life while a woman suffered less serious injuries and another woman was injured by a glass after an officer fired his weapon.

The attacker wore a fake explosive device. British police immediately called the attack an "act of terrorism" and then said it believed it to be related to Islamic extremism. The BBC reports that the attacker, whose details were not disclosed, was "under active surveillance" by the police at the time of the attack.
The situation is now under control.
