From the day of its delivery to the Navy, Nave Bersagliere has traveled about 322.000 nautical miles (which corresponds to about 15 times the length of the equator) carrying out numerous training and operational missions in the service of the country including the circumnavigation of the world in 1996 - touching 35 ports in 23 countries - Abu Dhabi International Defense Exhibition in 2000 and NATO Active Endeavor Operations in 2003, 2008 and 2010.

With the cancellation of the squad Bersagliere patrol vessel from the naval roles, the process of adapting the Navy fleet continues. In fact, a plan has been in place for some time which has seen the divestment, due to wear and aging, of important naval units such as the Maestrale and Aliseo frigate, the corvettes Minerva, Sibilla, Danaide, Urania, the patrol boats of Squadra Grenadier and Artigliere and mine hunters. Lerici and Sapri.

The combat flag of the Bersagliere squad patrol boat will be delivered, during the ceremony, to the Chief of Staff of the Navy, squad admiral Valter Girardelli, to be kept in Rome in the Memorial Museum of the Armed Forces flags, inside the Altar. of the Fatherland.
