Trapani: operation by the state police, dismantled two drug trafficking networks in the Milo and Palme district

The operation called "Reset" of the Trapani State Police took off at dawn today and hit the cocaine and hash drug dealers in the city neighborhoods Milo and Palme.

The police of the flying squad arrested 6 people and other 3 were subjected to the obligation to stay responsible for detention and drug dealing.

Numerous searches were carried out during the operation.

The investigations of the men of the Antidrug Section and of the Crime Section against heritage, coordinated by the Deputy PM Rossana Penna, 19 started on the evening of 2017 in July when, at 22.10, four pistol shots were fired, caliber 7.65, against the shutter of the Enoteca “Per Bacco”, in the Via Fardella in Trapani.

From the investigative elements gathered, it emerged that behind that intimidation there was one of those arrested who claimed a credit of 4.000 euro against the son-in-law of the owner of the wine shop, for a batch of about 2 kg. never paid hashish. Only by pure chance, no bystander was injured.

The hundreds of interceptions and video surveillance activated by the investigators of the State Police have shed light on a vast round of dealing and trafficking of cocaine and hashish run by two brothers. The illegal activity was based on their homes in the Palme district and in the Milo district. Two other apartments, one in Via Fardella and one in Via Morello, were used as a drug store.

Two of those arrested had set up an extremely efficient pusher network. Three others were organized for daily "work" shifts and sold the drug at home, moving by motorbike, or in the hallway of the two buildings.

The estimated illicit business turnover is over 500 thousand euros. The cocaine and hashish placed on the market were of excellent quality and this allowed those arrested to "place them" at a price much higher than the average: 7 euro per gr. hashish and 60 euro per gr. cocaine. To attract more customers and retain them, those arrested had devised a unique sales technique: offering microdoses to the market at a very low price. This "commercial" choice had proved to be effective and had attracted, for example, even some minors, as documented by the Flying Squad.

During the investigative activity the Mobile Squad's men three of those arrested were caught in drug dealing activities and seized a total of 3 kg. of cocaine and 35 kg. of hashish.

The operation taken at dawn was performed by 90 men from the Trapani Flying Squad, the Crime Prevention Department, the Mobile Department and three canine anti-drug units from Palermo.

The arrests and searches were carried out with the "air cover" of a helicopter of the Flight Department of the State Police of Palermo.
