The Nova agency has announced that the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano, has arrived tonight in Algiers to attend the 14ma meeting of the leaders of the diplomacy of Dialogue 5 + 5 (Algeria, France, Italy, Libya, Malta , Morocco, Mauritania, Portugal, Spain and Tunisia), to be held tomorrow, 21 January.
As the Foreign Ministry reports on his official Twitter profile, Minister Alfano was received by the Algerian homologue, Abdelkader Messahel. During the talks, the head of Italian diplomacy said he "greatly appreciated the role of Algeria for the stability and development of the Mediterranean region".
"Italy and Algeria are ready to work together tomorrow in the 5 + 5 Dialogue to seize regional challenges and opportunities", added Minister Alfano. "Italy has a strategic interest in the stability and development of the Mediterranean region. The 5 + 5 Dialogue is one of the main and traditional forums of regional dialogue, which makes an important contribution to the deepening of collaboration and integration between the two shores of the Mediterranean, in order to strengthen the positive agenda of the region ", said the Minister of Foreign Affairs in view of his mission to Algiers.
Tomorrow, after the family photo, the plenary session of the 5 + 5 dialogue will be held, which will see an intervention by Minister Alfano. Subsequently, the head of the Farnesina will represent Italy at the working table dedicated to local crises and regional security, dealing in particular with the following issues: terrorism and de-radicalization, Libya, Sahel, Syria, Iraq and the Middle East.
