Aeronautica Militare: emergency medical flight for an eight-year-old

It has recently concluded a medical transport carried out with a Falcon 50 aircraft of the 31 ° Stormo of Ciampino dell'Aeronautica Militare in favor of a child of 8 years in Imminent Danger of Life (IPV) on the route Olbia / Rome Ciampino. The transport requested by the Prefecture of Nuoro was necessary because the child urgently needed medical assistance.

The air mission was therefore managed from the Summit Situation Room of the Air Squad Command, the operations room of the Air Force from where this type of interventions are also coordinated. The Summit Situation Room is the operations room of the Air Force which has among its tasks that of organizing and managing - in coordination with Prefectures, Hospitals and the Presidency of the Council of Ministers - this kind of transport throughout the national territory.

The transport aircraft and helicopters of the Air Force are ready 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, to intervene for public utility missions such as the emergency medical transport of people in imminent danger of life, as happened last night , or that of organs and medical teams for transplants.

The service covers the entire national territory, including the islands, and when requested by the competent authorities it is also carried out in favor of Italian citizens who are abroad.
