The head of the Parliament of the Arab League presided over a meeting between Arab parliamentarians and a Chinese peer delegation, in order to have an exchange of views on international issues and to strengthen cooperation between China and the Arab world.
The central theme dealt with was the US decision to recognize Jerusalem as the Israeli capital.
The delegation consisted of Deputy Head of Parliament Dr. Abdul Rahman Mohammed Ali Said, a member of the Arab Parliament and MP Aisha Salem Smonoh. The purpose of the meeting was to open a channel of communication between the Arab Parliament and the Chinese People's Congress Council. The meeting, between the two delegations, sanctioned the total dissent of the Arab people and the desire to reject the recent decision by the United States government to transfer the American embassy and the recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of the Zionist state. The meeting also served to promote the development of strategic relations and cooperation between China and the Arab countries. This is the official visit to the Arab Parliament by senior dignitaries from the Council of Representatives of China.

This first meeting, a note from the Parliament of the Arab League reads, will favor the consolidation of future relations which will become permanent especially to manage the situation of the Palestinians after the American announcement mentioned. Relations between the lower branches of the two parliaments and between Arab and Chinese diplomats will also have to grow at all levels.
The head of the Arab Parliament has officially invited the President of the People's Republic of China to make a speech before the Arab Parliament where the strong bond established between China and the Arab world would be established. The need to enlarge the Arab League diplomatic headquarters in Beijing was also announced, sending a greater number of high-ranking diplomats.
During the days from 22 to 24 January there was a meeting between the Vice-President of the Committee on Interior and Judicial Affairs and the member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, Li Hnumeing. Subsequently, at the Chinese Embassy there was a meeting with the Custodian of the two Holy Mosques in Beijing and with a number of Chinese deputies and directors of the protocol, foreign affairs and international cooperation departments of the Congress.
The delegation then held a meeting with experts and researchers at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, where the head of the Arab parliament touched upon the depth of the historical relations between China and the Arab world where the path of the ancient Silk Road, which connected ancient Arab countries to China.
Cooperation continues even in the modern era, in light of the current conflicts that required the establishment of the “Cooperation Sino-Arab Forum” in 2005.
Positive Arab attitudes towards China have already occurred in the past when the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Yemen and Syria abstained in the 1951 from the vote at the United Nations on the resolution of the United States against China. China has returned the 1956 for the Palestinian question to the Security Council.
The delegations at the conclusion of the visit said that the American recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel is a clear challenge to all conventions and norms related to the Palestinian cause and international resolutions and is a threat to international security and peace. It is a provocation to the sentiments of Arabs and Muslims, Christians and the whole free world, despite the warnings announced by Arab leaders and world leaders and regional and international organizations.
The meeting then touched on Arab issues such as Syria, Yemen and Libya.
Chen Xiaodong, assistant to China's foreign minister stressed that the Palestinian issue has the full support of China and that Sudan's partnerships and projects will start in the coming days.
