France-Germany, the Franco-German cooperation in the aeronautics sector continues

The French Defense Minister, Florence Parly, received her German counterpart, Ursula von der Leyen today in Paris "to take stock of Franco-German cooperation" in the aeronautical sector. “Les Echos” writes it, underlining that the bilateral cooperation agenda set at the last Franco-German Council of Ministers should be maintained. The two ministers are expected to announce an "air combat system of the future" which, according to the business newspaper, will include a mix of piloted aircraft and drones. "Libe'ration" writes that the German government agreement causes "cold sweats" in Paris, given that some positions are in contradiction with the French project and "could also curb the sale of arms to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates" . For the European aviation industry, this is an agreement of fundamental importance, aimed at reinforcing the concept of "Europe of defense". If Paris and Berlin work together on a fifth-generation fighter jet project, the German government could rule out buying US F-35s.
