France, Foreign Minister Le Drian will go "very soon" to Libya

French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian has announced that he will go "very soon" to Libya to make sure that the declarations of principle agreed in July in France between the two rival Libyan parties to get the country out of chaos are carried out. Meeting at the end of July at the initiative of France in Celle-Saint-Cloud, in the Paris region, the head of the fragile government of national agreement (GNA) Fayez al-Sarraj, recognized by the international community, and the strongman of the country, the general Khalifa Haftar, have accepted - without signing it - a roadmap on a ceasefire and organizing elections next year. “I will be traveling to Libya very soon to ensure the follow-up to this meeting and seek the support of all parties for the declaration that was adopted on this occasion,” Le Drian said in a speech to the ambassadors gathered in Paris. The government did not specify the dates for security reasons.
