Military Navy: Meeting in Rome between the Navy and the National Maritime Cluster

On Wednesday 28 February, the Navy met the national exponents of the maritime cluster at the Head Command of the Naval team (CINCNAV) in Rome for the annual situation on the issues related to the maritime status of the country.

The meeting aimed at increasing coordination between the main actors who interact with the sea, is part of the institutional activities of the Navy and reflects an international, European and global vision that sees the sea inserted in a key context for development sustainable national and international economy.

This is a consolidated event that sees partners increasingly projected to seek new areas of collaboration and synergies useful for increasing maritime safety for safe access to routes and ports in crisis areas and for the reaction to threats and to guarantee a constant exchange of information that can be fundamental for the conduct of Italian commercial and military activities in the world.

The Navy, also through the use of the naval instrument, plays a fundamental role in all activities aimed at preserving the free use of the sea and contributes to the protection of national maritime interests, through presence, surveillance, deterrence and the fight against terrorism and illicit activities, thus contributing to maritime safety, also in support and coordination with the national mercantile cluster, which finds in the Sea Federation the point of union of most of the country's maritime civil activities.

During the meeting there was also talk of the role of "advisory" of the navies towards shipping, that is the sharing of information useful to the safety of navigation, through the cell Naval Cooperation and Giuidance for Shipping (NCAGS) operating at the Head Command of the Naval Squadron.

The works have shown that the millennium just begun, characterized by "blue growth", represents the historical moment on which to aim for the re-launch of maritimeity as a resource for commercial, occupational and technological growth and that the Navy also through the use of naval tool, plays a key role in those activities aimed at preserving the free use of the sea, also in support and coordination with the national maritime cluster that in confirming the commitment to increase the collaboration between the two companies for the protection of the marine environment strategic source of supply of national and European industry.
