Syria: the "Olive branch" operation continues

The Turkish offensive to conquer the territories occupied by the Syrian Kurds continues. According to reports from the Turkish media, the “Olive Branch” operation conducted by Turkey to steal the enclave of Afrin in northwestern Syria from the Syrian Kurds has reached its third day. The Free Syrian Army, supported by the Ankara military, allegedly took control of eleven villages, penetrating eight kilometers into the Syrian territory where they are fighting against the Kurdish Ypg militias.

Connecting cordons to the north, east and west have been created by the Turkish military, while the men of the Turkish Red Cross (Kizilay) are crossing the border to prepare tents that will welcome refugees fleeing towards the Turkish border of Hatay.

According to Turkish army sources 104 F16 took part in the bombings that destroyed 153 between stations, shelters and Ypg weapon depots.

Among the destroyed posts were the two from which in recent days 11 rockets that hit the Turkish city of Reyhanli that caused the death of a Syrian civilian and injured dozens of people.
