Tanap will supply Turkey from the upcoming 30 June

According to the Nova agency, the gas supplies to Turkey via the transathanol pipeline (Tanap) will start the 30 June.

This was announced today by Gary Jones, president of BP for Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey. As reported by the news agency “Trend”, the gas will come from the Azerbaijani field of Shah Deniz. “BP has a contract for this year to export two billion cubic meters of gas more. In addition, we expect exports to grow gradually from year to year, ”said Jones.

The Tanap pipeline, which runs for 1850 kilometers, will have an initial capacity of 16 billion cubic meters of gas; about six of these will be destined for Turkey, while the rest for Europe. After the first supplies to Turkey in 2018, Shah Deniz's gas will arrive in the old continent in the first half of 2020, via the trans-Adriatic pipeline (TAP).

The shareholders of the Tanap project are the companies Socar (58 percent), Botas (30 percent) and BP (12 percent).
