Economic situation in the strengthening phase: credit to households and businesses grows. Saturday 14 April the stage in Bolzano of the "Encounters on Territory" of ABI
During the 2017 the economy of the Provinces of Trento and Bolzano showed a strengthening that has invested all the different economic sectors. Driven by the liveliness of tourist flows and exports, the sectors of commercial and manufacturing services were particularly highlighted. Positive results were recorded in the turnover, supported by both domestic and foreign demand. This has consequently encouraged a re-launch of the investments that the companies have faced, also resorting to accumulated internal liquidity, which is why bank loans to companies have marked a substantial stability in their performance. On the other hand, the credit to households shows a sharp acceleration in terms of loans for the purchase of homes and consumer credit.
This is the economic analysis Abi that outlines a clear picture in view of Saturday's 14 meeting in Bolzano, a new stage of the Encounters on Territory. The initiative was launched to reach the territories, through a model of direct participation, and "to explain" closely what the Banks for the country do every day.
On the basis of the most up-to-date local data on 2017, it is noted that on the side of loans to households the Province of Bolzano marks an increase of 6% and that of Trento of 2,7%, for companies a substantial stability compared to the previous year.
Credit quality improved in both provinces, with a decline in bad debts. The result is a ratio of gross non-performing loans / loans of around 7,6% with an amount of 3,1 billion euros.
The trend in deposits is a sign of a constant trust of savers. Those of the families in particular, which constitute more than 70% of the total, have grown by 6,5% in Trentino and 3,2% in Alto Adige.

Banks in Trentino Alto Adige. At the end of 2017, the structure of the regional banking sector sees 78 banks (51 in the Province of Bolzano and 27 in Trento) active for a total of 789 branches (352 in the province of Bolzano and 437 in Trento). The ATMs (ATMs) scattered throughout the territory are 1.125 units; the Pos (equipment needed to pay with Bancomat directly in stores) 52.013. In the region, bank workers are 2,2% of the national total of the sector slightly higher than 286.000 units.
