China's first online sharing platform for integrated circuits and microsystems was launched by a state-owned enterprise. The platform, initiated by China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (CETC), allows the public to access the CETC intellectual property database, software tools and production line. The platform welcomes other businesses to submit their research results online to promote development in the industry. China has demanded improvements in chip development as the electronic information industry has long been dependent on imported chips. "Developing the technology and industry of integrated circuits and microsystems not only goes hand in hand with the development of information technology, but also meets the needs of integrated and intellectual development," said Xiong Qunli, president of the CETC. Liu Liehong, CEO of CETC, said the company was able to provide professional services for the integrated circuit and microsystems industry with a solid research foundation.
