FCA: comment on the Group's sales results in the European car market

In the Europe of 28 plus the EFTA member nations, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles registered more than 84.300 cars in February for a share of 7,3 per cent.

In the progressive first two months of the 2018, the FCA registrations are 169.500, equal to the 6,9 per cent share.

Definitely positive results for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles in Germany (+ 5,5 per cent sales), France (+ 13,9 per cent in a growing 4,3 per cent market) and in Spain, where the Group increases its 10,6 per cent volumes.

The Fiat brand in February in Europe registered 60 thousand cars and the share is 5,2 percent. In the first two months of the year, the brand registers 120 thousand vehicles, obtaining a share of 4,9 per cent.

During the month, Fiat improved its performance in Spain (+ 7,3 per cent) and in Germany and France: in these two countries, with the increasing sales of 9,3 and 8,8 per cent respectively, the brand obtains a better result than total of the two markets.

In February, once again the brand confirms its leadership in the A segment, with almost 15.400 Fiat 500 registered (the 15,3 percent more than the same month of the 2017) and over 13 thousand Panda: they are obviously the two best-selling cars in the category , with a share together close to the 30 percent.

The results obtained by 500L and 500X also deserve to be reported. Both are confirmed among the best-selling cars of their segments: 500L with over 5.800 registrations in the month, 500X with almost 17.900 registrations in the two months, the 11,3 percent more than a year ago. The result of the Type is also positive: almost 9.700 registrations in the month and 19.800 in the two months, with an increase compared to the first two months of the 2017 equal to 4 per cent. The 124 Spider is also one of the five best-selling cars in its segment.

Sales of Lancia / Chrysler are 4.200 in February (for a share of 0,4 percent) and almost 8.500 in the two months, with a share of 0,3 percent.

Lancia Ypsilon continues to be highly appreciated in Italy, the only nation where the brand is marketed: it is in the top ten of the best-selling cars and in the top positions in the B segment.

February very positive for Alfa Romeo, with almost 7.400 registrations, the 17,1 percent more than last year, for a stable share of 0,6 per cent.

In the progressive annual Alfa Romeo registered are more than 14.800, 20,7 percent more than the first two months of 2017, for a share of 0,6 percent growth of 0,1 percentage points.

For the brand, positive results in February in Italy (sales up by 18,6 per cent), in France (+ 29,7 per cent) and in Spain (+ 11 per cent).

Among the models, obviously the results obtained by Giulia and Stelvio must be reported. In Italy, in particular, they are the best-selling cars in their segments: Giulia with the 15,5 per cent share, Stelvio with the 17,7 per cent.

The Jeep brand in February registered over 12 thousand cars with an increase in sales of the 50,2 percent. The share grows by 0,3 percentage points to the 1 percent.

In the first two months of 2018 registered Jeeps are over 24.700, 59,8 percent more in comparison with the same period last year. The share is at 1 percent, up by 0,3 percentage points.

Among the models, it is obviously worth mentioning the results obtained by the new Compass, which, with more than 5.700 registrations in the month, is rapidly establishing itself on the market, while Renegade confirms its position among the top ten in its segment.

The Maserati luxury brand has registered 626 cars in February and 1.400 in the two months.
