According to reports from the Syrian state agency "Sana, Syrian rebel fighters, together with their families, began this morning to leave the city of Harasta, in the west of eastern Ghouta, as part of the agreement between the Islamist group Ahrar al -Sham and the Damascus regime.

At least 810 people, including at least 253 men, 157 women, 218 children and 182 "fighters", have already left the rebel sector east of Damascus. The regime's media speak of at least 10 buses used in the operation, conducted along the border that divides the area controlled by forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad and the rebel territories. Almost 1.500 fighters from the armed group along with 6.000 members of their families are expected to be evacuated from the city today, thanks to an agreement reached Wednesday with the government of Damascus through Russian mediation.

The insurgents will be transferred to the northwestern province of Idlib, controlled by the rebels. The media monitoring center of the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah, allied with the government of Damascus, reported that the rebel group released 13 Syrian soldiers in exchange for the release of 5 fighters.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Damascus forces control over 80% of eastern Ghouta, where nearly 18 civilians, including 1.500 children, have been killed since February 315, and over 5.000 have been injured.

The Russian Defense Ministry has made it known that today alone at least 5.000 civilians have already left the rebel enclave by crossing the three humanitarian corridors in the area established by the regime and Russian forces.
