The era of smart-working begins in Leonardo

Leonardo and the trade unions have today signed an innovative agreement on smart-working with the aim of gradually introducing the possibility of working at a company location closer to the home of the employee (company hub) or the residence of the worker . The introduction of the new mode of work performance is aimed at improving the well-being of Leonardo's employees and increasing company productivity.

Thanks to the agreement, Leonardo will start from 1-June 2018 a pilot project lasting 12 months, addressed - on a voluntary basis and after discretionary assessment of the company - to a first audience of about 200 employees. A gradual expansion of the use of smart-working is envisaged following a continuous dialogue with the trade unions and monitoring activities on the results of efficiency gains achieved.

With the start of the smart-working project, Leonardo faces a decisive path in the digital transformation process, as indicated in the 2018-2022 Business Plan.

The innovative agreement aims to reconcile work-life balance, to improve organizational efficiency and the professional context, allowing a greater focus on objectives and responsibility for results. All in the framework of a relationship of trust and transparent dialogue between employees and direct managers.

Besides the improvement of the professional context, the introduction of smart-working allows to make an effective contribution to the management of the environmental impacts on the territories thanks to the increase of sustainable mobility, thus constituting a good practice of social responsibility in a context of continuous attention to the themes of Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility.
