Hilal al Sahlani, Iraqi deputy and member of the parliamentary foreign affairs commission, with a statement released to the Nova agency, announced that the International Conference for the Reconstruction of Iraq, starting on February 12 in Kuwait, will see the institution a Fund for the Reconstruction of War-torn Cities and Regions, under the direct supervision of the Baghdad government.
“There is a strong international and regional will at the level of governments, civil society organizations, corporations and major investors to support Iraq and contribute to the reconstruction process. The conference will be a hub to stimulate the economy, trade, culture, services, infrastructure, as well as the tourism sector and the entry of foreign investors into the Iraqi market to implement various projects ”.
In addition, according to Al Sahlani, "financial support will not be limited to money alone, because large companies will provide investment opportunities and projects to work in Iraq thanks to available government guarantees".
