European Lazio starts with the right foot by knocking Vitesse at home

With their fourth victory out of five official matches, Lazio beat Arnhem and celebrate their return to the Europa League in the best possible way. A few days after the blow inflicted on Milan in the league, Simone Inzaghi revolutionizing an unwritten rule that seemed a fixed point in football, at least that of when we were kids, changes seven-elevenths of the formation that had humiliated the Rossoneri and sends to bless the classic: "Never change a winning team". Courageous choice that of the Biancoceleste coach, but perfectly in line with the courage that had distinguished him since his "return" to Formello as a "makeshift" coach of the first team and which had allowed him to bring with humility, sacrifice and indeed courage, Lazio at the great level where we can admire it now. "Inzaghino" confirms in the starting lineup only Strakosha, the Dutch De Vrij, Parolo (who will be unavailable as suspended, in the away match against Genoa) and Luis Alberto. For the rest, the formation is revolutionized by interpreters who had had little or no space in the official matches played by the Capitoline until yesterday. Bastos replaces the injured Wallace, Luiz Felipe makes his debut from the first minute as well as Marusic, Caicedo and Di Gennaro who had never been employed before. Murgia and Lukaku are back as owners from the beginning. Opposite is Vitesse, fresh winner of the Dutch Cup and currently second in the national championship behind Feyenoord. Lazio, in the “Europe version” jersey with biancocelesti stripes, settles down with a 3-5-1-1. We are witnessing a good race characterized by continuous changes in front on one side and the other. The biancocelesti nearly scored a couple of times thanks to the header by Luis Alberto and De Vrij but the Dutch were no less and endangered the Italian goal thanks to a free kick from Kashia. Lazio plays well but shows some slippage especially in defense that in fact is "punctured" in the 33rd minute by Matavz who hits in front of goal on a cross from Rashica's right and brings Vitesse ahead. Lazio immediately tries to react, but the first half ends with the result of 1-0 for the Dutch. The recovery begins with Immobile in place of the yellow card Luiz Felipe and with a Lazio passing to 4-3-1-2. At the 6th minute at the end of a stubborn action, Lazio passes with Parolo fixing the result at 1-1. A few minutes pass and Vitesse scores with an action similar to that of the Dutch advantage, this time with Linssen beating Stakosha on Rashica's cross.
Inzaghi realizes that it is no longer the time to joke and inserts the quality of Milinkovic Savic in place of Di Gennaro and the experience of Lulic, who replaces Lukaku. At 22º it is the usual Immobile that takes advantage of a nice heel play by attacking partner Caicedo and inflates the net for the momentary 2-2. The biancoceleste comeback is completed at 30th, when the “young man of providence” Murgia, beats the Dutch goalkeeper with his left and gives the first European victory to Simone Inzaghi's Lazio.
