Leonardo: awarded by Airbus as "Best Performing Supplier"

Airbus awarded Leonardo's Aerostructures Division as Best Performing Supplier, one of the best suppliers in terms of sustainable and consolidated performance: OTD (On Time Delivery) equal to 100% and a significant improvement in quality.

The award ceremony took place today in Toulouse as part of an initiative called SQIP (Supplier Quality Improvement Plan), aimed at the continuous improvement of product quality. This initiative, which sees Leonardo working alongside Airbus from the 2009, concerns the A321 and A380 programs for which the large fuselage components are made by Leonardo in the Nola plant, near Naples.

In the 2014 Leonardo had obtained the recognition of Best Improver Supplier ranking at the top of the performance with an OTD (On Time Delivery) equal to 99% for the A321 program.

Leonardo has a long-standing partnership with Airbus for over thirty years, started in the 1981 with the A300 and A310 family aircraft agreements. In 1991 the agreement for the design and production of the front section of the A321 fuselage and in the 2001 for the A380 program. In the 2016 Leonardo and Airbus have reached the agreement for the construction of the front fuselage, 14A section, of the new LR configuration (long range) of the Airbus A321.
