Libya: Haftar sends reinforcements to Sebha after yesterday's clashes

The Libyan National Army (LNA) of Haftar has sent reinforcements to Sebha, in southern Libya, after the clashes occurred yesterday between the militias loyal to the Tebu and those of the Bani Suleiman. In particular, the sending of reinforcements is linked to the complaint of local authorities concerning the presence of foreign militias, probably Chadian and Sudanese rebels, in the area that would have taken control of the airport. According to the Libyan media close to Haftar, at least 300 soldiers of the sixth brigade have been sent to the city of Fezzan where there is an atmosphere of relative calm during these hours.

Yesterday, the mayor of the southern Libyan city of Sebha, Hamid al Khaiali, had denounced the occupation of the airport by a foreign, non-Libyan militia from an African country ”. Speaking to the Libyan news site "al Marsad", the Fezzan administrator had stated that for five days the Libyan army bases in the area had been undergoing attacks by the militia, which would have heavy weapons.
