🎤Marina Military: water potability on board the naval units

In the recent past some news reports have reported that there were no ground for any actions that the Navy would have launched against Marshal Emiliano Boi in service in La Spezia.

To clarify the facts definitively, it should be noted that the Navy has not taken any disciplinary action against the non-commissioned officer in question nor has he ever reported to the judicial authorities events that involve him in any way, not even as a result of his reports about the potability of the water on board the military units.

The Armed Forces cooperates fully and has the utmost respect in the work of the Judiciary, which has the right to act of office in the case of crime, and therefore does not consider it appropriate to express judgments or to unify the work that will certainly have the characteristics of independence , completeness and competence.

Regarding the potability of water on board the Military Units, it is also appropriate to clarify that the Navy already from 2004 has initiated the necessary actions to provide naval units, production facilities, distribution and water grading in line with the legislation in force. These plants, in fact, composed of reverse osmosis water desalinator, water purification system and chlorination system, meet the current requirements and undergo periodic checks, through specific laboratory tests, to constantly verify compliance with the regulations recognized nationally and internationally, also envisaged for ships used for commercial and passenger transport (31 Legislative Decree 2001 and subsequent amendments and additions).

Controls, where they can not be carried out by the laboratories of the Armed Force, are outsourced to certified laboratories.

Despite this, it is not possible to exclude, given the complexity of the plants, that temporary and contingent operating anomalies or fortuitous events may occur, as can happen in every community and for any high-tech system.

The same attention is also paid to the checks carried out in the premises where the meals are prepared. The laboratory tests provided by the HACCP protocols conducted to date have not revealed any noteworthy situation.

The Navy has always acted with a great sense of responsibility to protect the health of its men and women, in all circumstances, through adequate controls, high safety standards and the use of the most advanced technologies to make our ships increasingly oriented, as well as the defense of the country from the sea and the sea, the needs of the community and the well-being of the crew.

Furthermore, over the years, all the reports concerning particular pathologies between the military and civilian personnel who served on the Navy Units have been appropriately analyzed and taken over by the competent bodies as soon as they have received official information.
