šŸŽ¤šŸŽ„Mattarella in the face of the failure of the March 4 elections, will have to defend national unity with a neutral government

(by Francescomaria Tuccillo) Never as in this phase of the life of our country, the President of the Republic is called to defend national unity, a prerogative that is constitutionally assigned to him. A good look at the result of the vote, and the "strategy of irresponsibility" around the formation of a new government, there is an attempt to radicalize the Lega / M5S bipolarism which means splitting the country in North and South. Only full awareness of this risk by Italian citizens will be able to prevent this attack. We need to mobilize all people of good will, finding within ourselves the strength of our ancestors who have shed blood for this country.

The President of the Republic, with this in mind at the end of the third round of consultations, made a speech of the highest institutional level.

ā€œAā€œ neutral ā€executive, practically at theā€œ service ā€of the country, becauseā€œ there is no possibility of forming a majority born from a political agreement ā€.

Sergio Mattarella, therefore, puts a stone on a government born from the polls of March 4 and lists the long list of 'failures' of these 64 days. Once again the head of state had to note, with bitterness and some annoyance, that "all these unavailability have been confirmed to me". The tenant of the Colle, even during the last talks, recalls the sense of responsibility of the political forces, certainly favoring the agreement between the major players in the field, closed in the logic of vetoes and prejudices, between tactics and a sometimes exasperated need to satisfy one's ego.
Rather than a minority government, which would lead to the elections anyway, the tenant of the Colle considers "more respectful of democratic logic than to lead to the elections is a non-partisan government", therefore neutral and of service, which concludes its activity in December, ā€œthe financial maneuver approved to go to new elections immediately afterwardsā€.
Mattarella launches its appeal to the parties. The helm of this crisis is always in their hands, which are an expression of the will of the people. The President of the Republic, in fact, does not exclude the formation of a political majority even during a truce executive, which should therefore resign "to leave the field free to a political government". Then he throws the early vote ball to the leaders if the president's team doesn't have the confidence of Parliament. The return to the polls could materialize in the summer (the most accredited date is that of 22 July), or in October. The head of state, however, points out in detail the contraindications: the polls in the middle of summer "would make it difficult for the voters to vote", while as regards the autumn hypothesis Mattarella does not hide his concerns, that is, "that there is, after the vote, time to elaborate and approve the financial maneuver and the state budget for next year ā€. With the consequent and inevitable increase in VAT, the recessive effects that it would cause, in addition to exposing "our economic situation to maneuvers and offensives by financial speculation on international markets".
The head of state closes further 'games' in the palace, aware of the fact that Italian politics is already being felt in the electoral campaign. It is for this reason that, beyond the 'passionate' declarations, it offers the last chance to secure the country, but warns: the consequences of the eventual rejection of the provisional executive would be solely and exclusively attributable to the decisions of the parties.
In the next 48 hours the curtain will rise on the name of the person in charge and on the list of ministers on which the head of state has been working for days. For now the only voice in favor of the service government has been raised by the Democratic Party and the LeU.
