New York, helicopter crashes into the East River. Five dead

A helicopter with 5 tourists on board, who wanted to experience the unforgettable experience of flying over Manhattan and take some photos from above, crashed yesterday evening around the 7.00 pm in the East River, the river that divides precisely Manhattan from Queens . The incident occurred at the stretch between the 89ª and the 90ª road on the Upper East Side of Manhattan and involved an AS350 helicopter, which according to officials was run by Liberty Helicopters and hired privately for the occasion, for a photo shoot.
At the time of the accident, he carried six passengers, five tourists plus the pilot.
All the tourists on board are dead, while the pilot of the aircraft, the only one able to get out of the finished vehicle in the water, would have been injured in a not serious way and transported to the hospital.
An eyewitness commented on the incident he witnessed through the window of a restaurant:
“We were having dinner and we noticed a red helicopter going full speed towards the water. It seemed an almost surreal situation. The aircraft quickly approached the water that it completely crashed into after which it sank. The immediate reaction was to call 911 (the unique emergency number, ed.) ”.
