Open day in Aeronautics Academy

Record attendance at Open Day, organized by the Aeronautical Academy to give the opportunity to young students wishing to pursue a military career in the Air Force to get to know one of the most prestigious training institutes of the Armed Forces.

There were 2000 visitors who yesterday, in addition to the visit to the infrastructures, had the opportunity to meet the young students, to ask them questions on their study path at the Academy and on the future prospects of employment in the Air Force, touching the typical day of the student. During the Academy tour, the flight simulators of the SF 260-EA aircraft and the Twin Astir glider were particularly successful among the students, as well as the mock-up of the AMX fighter aircraft with the charm of the story of its operational use.

New for this year, much appreciated by the public, the exhibition on the sports field of drones designed and built by the young officers of the Corps of Aeronautics, still in training in the Aeronautical Academy.

Divided into groups, the students, their teachers and family members were welcomed by the athletes of the Aeronautical Sports Center and then visited the Motors Room with an illustration of the characteristics of the engines that made the history of the Air Force Military that of those that today allow every day, 24 hours on 24, the defense of the skies of the national territory.

The boys and the parents present at the open day have had the opportunity to receive all the useful news concerning the competition announcement that will expire in a few days, the next 8 February.

The Aeronautics Academy is a military institute of higher studies of a university nature that has the task of providing for the selection, recruitment and training of young people who aspire to become officers of the Air Force in permanent service. The officers of the normal role reach the end of the Academic studies obtaining the Master's Degree (5 years). For the normal role they are formed in the Academy:

  • Pilot Officers and the role of Weapons - Degree in Management of Defense Aerospace Systems;
  • Engineers of Aeronautic Engineering - Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electronics, Civil;
  • Officers of the Commissariat Corps - Graduation every other year in Law / Economics;
  • Officers of the Aeronautical Health Corps - Degree in Medicine and Surgery.

The university education is pursued through the historic link of the Aeronautical Academy with the University of Naples "Federico II".
