Pensions for the Armed Forces and Police, what changes according to the recent Inps circular

The INPS clarifies the effects of the adjustment to life expectancy for the pensions of the Armed Forces, the Police and the Fire Brigade. Here's what will change from the next 1 January.
The INPS has published a circular with all the explanations on what will change in the 2019 on the pensions front. As recalled by the National Insurance Institute next year, the adjustment of pension requirements will be adjusted with INPS life expectancy, which, for example, will result in an increase of 3 months for the old age pension (which will pass from 66 years and 7 months to 67 years).
The adjustment of pensions with the increase in life expectancy (foreseen by the Fornero reform) will also have effects on the retirement of defense and security personnel and the Fire Brigade. It is always the INPS to reiterate it in the circular 62 / 2018 in which the last part is entirely dedicated to the news planned for the Armed Forces, Police and Firemen.
Below we will clarify the news that will involve the adjustment with life expectancy for the personnel of the Police.

Starting from 1 January 2019 will change the requirements for retirement complicit the further increase of 5 months of life expectancy. For example, to access the retirement pension it will be necessary to have completed 67 years of age (both for men and for women) as well as having accrued 20 years of contributions.
For early retirement, instead, you will go from 42 years and 10 months (men) and 41 years and 10 months (women) to 43 years and 3 months (men) and 42 years and 3 months (women).
The adjustment therefore concerns the age of the registry, however, if access to retirement takes place regardless of age (just as for early retirement) the contribution requirement provided for by the treatment is increased.
The INPS has specified that the adaptation of the requirements to life expectancy also applies
to the following staff:
• the Armed Forces (Army, Navy and Air Force);
• the Arma dei Carabinieri;
• the Corps of the Guardia di Finanza;
• the civil police forces (State Police and Penitentiary);
• the National Fire Brigade Corps.
For personnel belonging to the aforementioned bodies, changes will be made to the provisions of the Legislative Decree 165 / 1997 "on the harmonization of the general pension scheme for retirement treatment of military personnel, police forces and the National Police
fire".

Old age pension

The article 2 of the aforementioned decree states that for the termination of the service it is necessary to have at least 60
years.
Moreover, the "colonels of the single role of the Army Arms, the Naval Staff Corps and the Air Force's normal navigating role" once the 58 years have been completed can be placed for 2 years in "surplus to the rank staff and in surplus to the maximum number envisaged for them, remaining at the disposal of the Defense Administration for use in positions mainly of
technical-administrative nature ".
However due to the successful adjustment with the increase in life expectancy the age limits
these, in relation to the qualification and degree of membership, are increased by 12 months.

So for retirement it will be necessary to have completed 61 years, while the colonels can be placed
in surplus to the completion of the 59 years.

Retirement pension

• 41 years of accrued contributions;
• 58 age registry and have at least 35 years of contributions;
The requirements for the retirement pension of the Armed Forces and Police, regulated by the article 6 of the aforementioned article, also change. In detail, starting from 1 January 2019 to retire
in advance, one of the following conditions must be met:
• 54 age data if the maximum seniority has been reached within 31 December 2011
contribution corresponding to the 80% rate.
Finally, INPS reminds us that these requirements will be in force for the next two years; from 2021, in fact, these will have to be adjusted again to life expectancy and consequently will undergo a new increase.
