Turkey and Baghdad: plan an operation in Iraq to hit the PKK

Mevlut Cavusoglu, Turkish Foreign Minister, in a statement reported by the Turkish CNN, said that Turkey is planning a military operation in Iraq against the Turkish Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) together with the Iraqi federal government.

"Although Afrin's operation has not yet been completed, we have the ability to bring both operations simultaneously", added the head of Ankara diplomacy referring to the offensive of the Turkish army launched last month against the Kurdish enclave in the Syrian north.

According to CNN reports, the Turkish operation could begin after the scheduled parliamentary elections in Iraq scheduled for May, the month in which Turkey plans to conclude the operation against the Kurdish enclave of Afrin in northern Syria.
