World Economic Forum 2018: Accenture - within 2022, artificial intelligence can increase the employment of 10% and increase revenues by 38%

At the World Economic Forum 2018 in Davos, Accenture presented research that claims that "by 2022, Artificial Intelligence will be able to increase revenues by 38% and increase employment by 10%, focusing on training workers for new technologies ".

The research, based on interviews with Top Manger and employees of 11 companies in the world, including Italy, invites CEOs to invest more on training employees on new technologies and presents a new study that analyzes the impact of artificial intelligence on business and employment. About 63% of executives interviewed believe that their company could create new jobs thanks to new technologies and, the 72% thinks they are strategic to gain a competitive advantage in the market. Employees are also optimistic about the value of AI: 62% expects a positive impact of the AI ​​on their work and, 69%, thinks it is essential to develop skills that allow working with smart technologies.

Despite this generalized awareness, only 3% of executives expected a significant increase in investments in this area.

According to Marco Morchio, Accenture Strategy Lead for Italy, Central Europe and Greece, if CEOs are able to support their employees in fully grasping the potential of artificial intelligence, it will allow them to increase corporate revenues by approximately 38% and increase employment by 10% by 2022.

Investing more in artificial intelligence skills and rapidly integrating smart technology and human ingenuity into all business functions allows for sustainably increasing employment - in terms of the global global economy, this would translate into equal profit growth. at 4,8 trillion dollars - ergo they will be essential elements for the success and growth of companies.
