State Police. Meeting with the President of the Petrolifera Union for budgetary joint activities to make distribution plants safer

A meeting was held today in Rome, at the Ministry of the Interior, between the President of the Petrolifera Union, Eng. Claudio Spinaci, and the Deputy Director General of Public Security - Central Director of the Criminal Police, Prefect Vittorio Rizzi, in order to to draw up a balance sheet of the joint activities, aimed at preventing and combating crimes against the fuel distribution plants and oil pipelines and provide a further impulse to collaboration and information exchange

Abatement of the attacks on the oil pipelines passed by 165 in cases of break-in in the 2015 to 3 in the 2019: this is the positive result achieved thanks to a timely analysis of the criminal activities for the purpose of planning targeted anti-crime strategies. All worked together: centrally, with the analysis support of the Central Directorate of Criminal Police and the Oil Union and at local level, the Police Forces in synergy with the companies that own the pipelines.

Collaboration continues also for the future with the aim of reducing the risks associated with cash handling at fuel distribution plants, also linked to the interest of crime in this sector.

Plant managers will be given a check list on what to do in case of robbery to protect the safety of the operators and provide useful information to the Police Forces.

"Security also passes through the active involvement of the business world and the results obtained and those that we expect with Unione Petrolifera are proof of this", these are the words of Prefect Vittorio Rizzi on the sidelines of the meeting.

The President Claudio Spinaci, in expressing his appreciation to the Prefect Rizzi for the precious work done so far, reiterated the full availability of the Petrolifera Union to make available all the information in its possession to effectively counteract the phenomena of illegality that undermine the estate of the sector, with considerable damage both to the Inland Revenue and to the community, and called for ever greater collaboration between institutions and operators which represents the true winning model.
