The State Police of Catania, carried out an ordinance for the application of precautionary measures against twenty-one people, all of whom were held responsible, in various capacities, for the crimes of criminal association for the purpose of trafficking and dealing in narcotic substances, detention for the purpose of dealing of the same substances.
The precautionary measure includes the results of investigations, coordinated by the District Public Prosecutor - DDA - of Catania, and conducted by the Mobile Squad - Anti-Drug Section over the period October 2015 - June 2016, from which it emerged the existence of two distinct groups dedicated to drug trafficking activities, revealing the existence of real criminal joint ventures between Catania drug traffickers and exponents of the Calabrian ndrine for the supply of cocaine and with Palermo subjects for the purchase of marijuana.
In particular, the investigations and video surveillance systems installed near the home of a person arrested, made it possible to ascertain the existence of an organized group operating in the drug trafficking sector which had the aforementioned home as its logistics base.
At the same time, the cameras located near the home of another person, recorded the involvement of these and his son, involved in a complex traffic of cocaine-type drugs.
The organized structure, constituted a real association characterized by a stable and continuous activity with suppliers and regular buyers.
Some were involved in the retail sales of the drug they took from the home of one of the arrested, to distribute it to the various purchasers of the group, he could rely on the supplies of cocaine guaranteed for transport and delivery by two subjects of Vibo Valentia.
As for the purchase of marijuana, they referred to the Palermo area, making contact with the suppliers of Partinico (PA).
From wiretaps emerged important buyers, to whom marijuana was sold in huge quantities, sometimes purchased on commission from the aforementioned suppliers of Partinico (PA).
In the course of the investigation, arrests and seizures of drugs were carried out in response to illegal trafficking.
