Pilots Training: at the start of the Aeronautica Militare and Harbor Master's Office

The first flight of the AW-139 helicopter of the Coast Guard (GC) delivered on Thursday 20 April to the 72 ° Stormo di Frosinone of the Air Force (AM) to start the training of the GC flight crews by the instructors of the Air Force.

The activity derives from the Agreement signed between Aeronautica Militare and Corpo delle Capitanerie di Porto - Coast Guard on 7 February 2018, and signed by the General of Squadra Aerea Settimo Caputo, Deputy Chief of Staff, and Admiral Inspector Capo Vincenzo Melone, then Commander General of the Corps of Port Authority - Coast Guard.

This agreement will allow GC personnel to access the specialization, qualification, qualification, training and training courses organized by the AM. The Aeronautics receives in return the availability of an AW139 CdP helicopter at the 72 ° Stormo of Frosinone for a maximum of n. 300 annual flight hours.

The agreement is a virtuous model to achieve synergies between State administrations and represents a valid reference for the future development of cooperation in the mutual operational areas.

The collaboration between Aeronautica Militare and Corpo delle Capitanerie di Porto - Coast Guard, Corps of the Italian Navy, descends from the inter-force and inter-agency view reported in the "White Paper on International Security and Defense" and is an example of optimization of processes and rationalization of resources.

The agreement arises from the interest of AM and Coast Guard to develop synergies in the aeronautical field, not limited to the training sector but also extending to the operating environment, with the aim of ensuring greater timeliness and capillarity of interventions in favor of the population.

The 72 ° flock has the task to train and train the AM visitors to obtain the Military Pilot License "Helicopter Track"(MPLH - Helicopter Military Pilot License Phase 3A and 3B), of the Military Patent of a Helicopter Pilot for the personnel of the Italian Army, Carabinieri and Guardia di Finanza, and of the Helicopter Pilot License for frequenters belonging to the State Bodies and coming from foreign countries. Moreover, it participates, with its own structures, to the operative activity of the Armed Force and, upon request, is able to offer the competition to the Civil Protection and SAR (Search and Rescue - Rescue and Recovery) operations. The Frosinone base also provides training for future instructors (PIT course - Pilot Instructor Training), specialists and on-board operators.

The Corps of the Port Authorities - Coast Guard has the task of safeguarding human life at sea, the safety of shipping and maritime transport, the protection of the marine environment, its ecosystems and the surveillance activity of the entire fishing chain , from the protection of resources to that of the final consumer. To these are added inspections on the national merchant, fishing and pleasure boats, also conducted on foreign merchant ships that climb the national ports.
