A HH139A helicopter of the 82 ° CSAR has carried out the recovery of a French citizen in Sicily

Monday 16 April, at 10.30, a helicopter HH-139A of the 82 ° CSAR Center (Combat Search and Rescue) of the Air Force was alerted to carry out the recovery of a man of about 50 years, of French nationality, injured during an excursion to Macari, near San Vito Lo Capo (TP).

The helicopter, ordered by the Air Operations Command of Poggio Renatico, took off from Trapani airport to the 10.50 approximately to go, at first, to Castellammare del Golfo in order to board an operator of the CNSAS (National Alpine Rescue Corps) And Speleological), and then reach the locality of Macari where, at 11.10, he carried out the recovery of the traumatized.

The French citizen, accidentally injured in the head by a boulder detached from the rocky ridge, after being stabilized by the CNSAS operator was boarded on the HH139A. The crew then made a course towards the Civic Hospital of Palermo where, having arrived at 12.30, he left the patient in the care of the doctors.

The helicopter returned to its premises, resuming normal activity, ready for the national SAR alarm.

 

The 82 ° Center is one of the Departments of the 15 ° Stormo of the Air Force that guarantees, 24 hours on 24, 365 days a year, without interruption, the search and rescue of the crews in flight in difficulty, competing, in addition, to public utility activities such as the search for missing at sea or in the mountains, the emergency medical transport of patients in danger of life and the rescue of serious traumatized, operating in any meteorological condition.
