Abi: in the 2017 the bank robberies reduced by a third

In one year, bank robberies were reduced by one third, and in a year they fell by 32,8%, passing from 360 2016 to 242 2017. The decrease confirms the positive trend already recorded in recent years: from 2007 to today, in fact, the attacks have plummeted by 92%, (passing from 2.972 to 242 2017). The so-called risk index - that is, the number of robberies per 100 branches - also fell from 1,2 of 2016 to 0,9 of 2017. These are the main results of the survey conducted by Ossif, the Abi research center on safety, which was discussed at the conference Banks and Security 2018, the two days that takes stock of the new strategies and the most innovative measures for prevent bank robberies.

Here, more in detail, what emerges from the Ossif survey on bank robberies in the 2017.

Adopting increasingly modern and effective protection measures and training their employees also through a special one Anti-robbery guide which incorporates the suggestions of the Law Enforcement.

Last 14 May the ABI and the Department of Public Security of the Ministry of the Interior renewed the Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen collaboration, through dialogue and exchange of information, and increasingly combat the criminal phenomenon of robberies in bank.
