ABI: launch of the fifth edition of the festival of creative culture

From 16 to 22 April 2018 returns the Festival of Creative Culture promoted by Abi and by the banks to bring young people aged 6 and 13 years closer to culture, thanks to a rich proposal of events, initiatives and workshops spread all over the National territory. The theme that will be the leitmotif for all the initiatives of the fifth edition is directly linked to the European Year of Cultural Heritage (EU Decision of the European Parliament and Council of 17 May 2017), which defines cultural heritage as an element of memory and identity but also of creativity and future.

The social and cultural importance of the event is also evidenced by the RAI's Main Media Partnership and the TGR's Media Partnership. The event is among those recognized by the European Commission for the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018, has the patronage of UNESCO and the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism.

"The Festival organized by banks on the Italian territory - said the Vice President of ABI Guido Rosa - continues to see the youngest protagonists in synergy with local and national institutions (schools, museums, libraries) to support the good most precious municipality for our country, children, who with their natural propensity for innovation, are the present and the future of a civilized life in which social and economic inclusion remains at the first place of the founding values of Italy and of Europe.

The activities planned in the next few days - concludes Rosa - will have as their main objective that of making children directly experience the techniques of artisans and artists both of the past and of the present, starting from the historical artistic heritage collected over the centuries by the patronage of banks and present in the area in which they operate. "

Besides 65 cultural events in 45 Italian cities will develop the inspiring theme, which each bank will decline with different tools and points of view, in light of their specificities and those of the territory they belong to.

The laboratories and other proposed activities will involve the participation of bank representatives and the collaboration of schools, museums, libraries and cultural operators.

On the occasion of the Festival the silent book "Che Capolavoro", published by Carthusia, was created by the artist Riccardo Guasco. The book, created in collaboration with Abi, illustrates the adventures of a child struggling with some of the works of art representative of the vast European cultural heritage, crossing the work of artists such as De Chirico, Van Gogh, Modigliani, Magritte, Klee and many others. The story proceeds exclusively through the force of the illustrations, succeeding in activating a dialogue with the reader even without the use of the written word, favoring the meeting between different cultures.
