Agreement between the Ministry of Justice and the Court of Auditors for debt collection in accounting processes

Ministry of Justice and Court of Auditors together in the activity of credit recovery deriving from the provisions issued by the accounting jurisdiction bodies. This is foreseen in an agreement signed by the Chief of Cabinet of the Minister of Justice, Alberto Rizzo, and by the Secretary General of the Court of Auditors, Franco Massi, on 3 May 2023.

The objective of the agreement is to activate a form of collaboration between the Corte dei Conti and via Arenula for the management of credits deriving from the sentences issued by the central and regional branches of the Corte dei Conti, providing for recovery methods involving the Court of Appeal of Rome as subject competent to manage the activities connected to the collection, entrusted by the Ministry of Justice to Equitalia justice SpA, an in-house body of the Ministry, with a view to simplifying administrative, accounting and re-engineering of the recovery procedure, thus realizing substantial savings of scale.

The parties mutually undertake to enhance the institutional collaboration to achieve the set objectives, regulating mutual commitments, the use of personnel and IT tools through a regulation of workflows, execution times and operating methods that are easy to use for the interested parties, in order to guarantee the timely and efficient activity of recovering credits deriving from provisions issued by the accounting jurisdiction bodies.
