Agreement between the Lazio Region, INPS and Roma Capitale for new university residences in Ostia

About 90 rooms for 150 beds in INPS properties. The buildings will be managed by DiSCo

New university residences are on the way thanks to a memorandum of understanding between INPS, the Lazio Region and Roma Capitale. The agreement provides for the creation of a public partnership for the redevelopment and use of public buildings owned by the social security institution to be used as university residences. The project - to which the regional councilor for Economic Development, Commerce and Handicraft, University, Research, Startup and Innovation Paolo Orneli, the councilor for urban planning of Roma Capitale, Maurizio Veloccia and the central credit management worked jointly, Welfare and Social Structures of the INPS - specifically concerns two properties in Ostia, owned by the former Enam Magistral Assistance Fund managed by INPS, in which about 90 rooms used as university students will be created for a total of 150 beds, with a part reserved for the children of members of the Magistral Assistance Fund ex Enam.

INPS has already started the construction site for the renovation and maintenance of the building in via Lungomare Paolo Toscanelli 200, while DiSCo - the regional body for the Right to Study and the Promotion of Knowledge - will purchase the furnishings and completely redevelop the second building in Largo delle Sirene 5. According to the memorandum of understanding, both buildings will be managed by DiSCo for 25 years.
