Government honors commitment made, Pavoncello (ANA), "out of stallholders from Bolkestein"

“The Italian government is removing the category of street vendors from the Bolkestein directive. It is a commitment that, across the board, politics took on with 196 thousand operators on public land during the election campaign: now the workers are waiting for a strong signal, namely the start of the process for the exclusion of the sector from Bolkestein.
In the Dignity Decree which is about to be approved, the Government should insert the requests for the exclusion of street vendors already to the attention of the Italian parliamentarians ”.
Angelo Pavoncello, Ana's vice-president of the National Walking Association, states this in a statement.
“We ask Minister Di Maio not to modify in any way the art. 1 paragraph 1181 of the Budget Law 2018/2020, drawn up to protect street vendors, until the provision of exclusion of the sector from the scope of application of Legislative Decree 59/2010 which has implemented the European directive in Italy is approved "adds Pavoncello .
"We are confident that the political forces in the country's government, from the League to the M5S, will work closely to maintain the commitment made, before the political elections, to guarantee and protect the work and dignity of 1 million Italians who find livelihood from itinerant trade ”concludes Pavoncello.
