A helicopter of the Italian Air Force rescues an angler caught at 70 miles off Trapani

A fisherman suffering from a heart attack on board his fishing boat was rescued last night by an HH-139 helicopter from the 82nd C.SAR Center. (Combat Search and Rescue Search and Rescue) of the 15th Wing of the Italian Air Force. The helicopter, on the orders of the Poggio Renatico Air Operations Command and after having boarded a doctor and a 118 nurse, took off from Birgi airport at 19.10 to reach the fishing boat which was about 70 nautical miles to the south. west of Trapani.

Once they reached the boat, the crew lowered a rescuer on board to prepare the fisherman for recovery by means of a winch with an evacuation triangle. The crew arrived in the area at 19.35 and carried out the recovery of the 20.30-year-old, also thanks to the use of night vision goggles (NYG - Night Vision Goggles), and then set off for the Trapani air base, where he landed at 118. The young fisherman was then transhipped by ambulance and left in the care of XNUMX. The carrier immediately resumed normal readiness for the national SAR alarm.
