Last night a Falcon 50 of the 31 ° Stormo of the Air Force carried out a medical transport from Reggio Calabria airport to Rome, in favor of a newborn of only 13 days of life. The little one needed to be transferred urgently, inside a special thermal cradle, to the Bambino Gesù Hospital in Rome.

The transport of the newborn and the accompanying medical team was requested by the Prefecture of Reggio Calabria. The request was received at the Top Situation Room of the Air Squad Command, the operations room of the Air Force which, among its tasks, also has that of organizing and managing - in coordination with Prefectures, Hospitals and the Presidency of the Council of Ministers - this kind of transport throughout the national territory.

Having landed in Rome and disembarking the little patient, the aircraft resumed the normal service of ready-to-use and without interruption, while the ambulance that awaited the newborn continued towards the Roman Hospital.

Air Force crews and transport aircraft are ready day and night to ensure the medical transport of people in imminent danger of life or, where required, also of organs and ambulances.

There are thousands of flights flying every year from the 31 ° Forms of Ciampino, the 14 ° Fountain of Sea Practice and the 46 ^ Air Brigade of Pisa, which are always on the front line in an emergency.
