Felted salami for microbiological risk. Ministry of Health reports recall

(by Giovanni D'Agata) For "non-compliant outcome for microbiological food safety parameters", a batch of Salame Felino IGP Sant'Antonio and Salame Felino IGP Terre della Bassa produced in Parma, in the vacuum packs of about 310 grams. The lot is F143A18M, with the expiry date 14/01/2019. The recall notice concerning the national territory was published on the website on the page dedicated to food alerts in the “Safety notices” section of the Ministry of Health. Both salamis affected by the recall, both produced by “La Fattoria di Parma”, in the factory in via Priorato 96 Sanguinaro di Fontanellato. Giovanni D'Agata, president of the "Rights Desk", invites customers, as a precaution, to bring the product back to the store with the instructions described in the recall.

From the Ministry of Health they let it be known that the local health authorities, the regions where the batch of salami was sold, have been notified of the recall. Specifically, the ministerial note speaks of "non-compliant outcome for microbiological food safety parameters as per Reg. 2073/05". In the context of food safety, the food microbiological risk is represented by the possible manifestation of an undesirable effect following exposure to zoonotic pathogens through the consumption of food. The most common are Campylobacter spp, Verocytotoxic Escherichia coli, Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella spp, Toxoplasma, food toxin producing microorganisms.
