Navy: the Orsa Maggiore school ship parked in Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Spain) from 22 to 25 in August

Today the Orsa Maggiore school ship has arrived in the port of Santa Cruz of Tenerife (Spain), where it will stop until 25 August. The stop will take place as part of the 2018 Education Campaign in favor of ten ward officers in the third class of the Livorno Naval Academy.

The ship, delivered to the Navy in the 1994, is one of the minor sailing units that contribute to the professional training and ethics of the personnel, with the aim of applying the theoretical lessons acquired during the past year at the Armed Forces Training Institute , acquire more maritime experience and strengthen the team spirit typical of the Navy crews.

After Santa Cruz, the Orsa Maggiore ship will continue to sail in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, continuing towards the port of Funchal on Madeira Island (Portugal), before returning the September 22 to Livorno, where it will conclude the Education Campaign.

The population, during the stop in Santa Cruz, will have the opportunity to visit the unit during the following times:

  • Thursday 23 August from 16: 30 to 19: 00;
  • Friday 24 August from 10: 30 to 12: 00.
