Presentation of the blue village of the state police in Verona

The State Police, on the occasion of the approach of the "International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women", relaunches the information and awareness campaign, entitled "This is not love", which has already been active for some years.

Tomorrow 19 November in Verona, at 11.00, at Piazza Bra, in the presence of the Chief of Police General Director of Public Security, Prefect Franco Gabrielli, will take place the presentation of the Blue Village of the State Police; a space made up of vehicles and stands where experts in the sector will illustrate the ways in which the State Police deals with the difficult situations that gravitate around the phenomenon of violence against women.

The Director of the Central Anti-Crime Department, Prefect Vittorio Rizzi and the Provincial Head of the Province of Verona, Ivana Petricca will be present.

The initiative, set in the vicinity of the "International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women", aims to facilitate and encourage direct contact, offering useful information and support, in order to counter a phenomenon that has an implication, as well as a legal one , also cultural and social. The event is part of a wider awareness campaign called “This is not love”. The project, conceived and promoted by the Central Anti-Crime Directorate of the Department of Public Security, aims to overcome stereotypes and prejudices to spread a new gender culture and help victims of violence to overcome fear, breaking the dense network of isolation. and shame.

With this objective, 5 stands will be set up, each of which will present different themes:

  • stand E: staff of the Central Anti-Crime Department and the Anti-Crime Division will provide the collected statistical data and useful indications on the trend of the phenomenon;
  • stand G: will propose material related to the "EVA Protocol";
  • stand I: dedicated to the activity carried out by the Scientific Police;
  • (space H): will be occupied by the Forensic Fullback, a new mobile laboratory for the examination of the crime scene;
  • stand F: will be occupied by psychologists and experts of victimology of the Central Anti-Crime Department;
  • stand D: information space where the staff of the Police Headquarters of Verona will represent the initiatives promoted in the area.

With this campaign, the State Police, even outside its institutional offices, intends to bring citizens closer to the places of greatest influx, not only in order to provide correct information on the phenomenon but also to offer the possibility of direct contact between victims and specialized operators, ready to collect the testimonies of those who often still hesitate to report the facts or to cross the threshold of a police office.

On the same occasion, the Quaestor Ivana Petricca will present an awareness project that, thanks to the precious contribution of a well-known company from Verona, will have repercussions on the whole national territory.
